The first meeting of  Voice ‘The Voltage Optimisation Industry Council for Excellence’, was held at the House of Lords on the 2nd September 2014.

The meeting was chaired by Andrew Hawley (chairman of Wallis Cutts Group) and was attended by 10 of the UK’s Voltage Optimisation Manufacturers and Lord Redesdale.

The group hopes to set out some basic standards for the achievable savings that can be secured through the implementation of VO alongside a Code of Conduct. The Group has also committed to support the Energy Managers Association as they announce the launch of a ‘Buyers Guide’ at EMEX (The Energy Managers Exhibition) on the 19th and 20th November 2014.

Lord Redesdale attended the meeting and stressed the need for the group, answering a call from EMA members for some clear guidance on a technology that has suffered reputational issues over the last few years.

Andrew Hawley has worked with most of the manufacturers said “in order to support the group, Wallis Cutts has agreed to withdraw from the marketing or selling of VO. It was important that the group was lead by a company that would not benefit financially from its work. We’re now in negotiations with other important independent bodies and hope to be able to make some exciting announcements very soon”

Voice is planning its next meeting for 22nd October. If you are a UK based designer/manufacturer of voltage optimisation equipment, please get in touch via email info@voice-vostandards.co.uk or call 0844 585 3043.
